Resident Alien writer Aaron Wiener has confirmed work on season 4 has begun, hinting at what to expect from the series as it moves forward. Resident Alien season 4 was previously confirmed in June, alongside news that it would be switching from Syfy to the USA Network. While it's unclear what this means for the upcoming season, the major cliffhanger that ended season 3 of the sci-fi comedy drama means there will no doubt be focus on resolving Harry and Bridget's current capture on the Moon base.
Now, Wiener has posted confirmation that writing for new episodes of Resident Alien season 4 has begun, hinting at what to anticipate in the upcoming episodes.
The writer explains how much he enjoys working on the series, a potential hint at the exciting events to come as the series continues to evolve. Wiener also tags Syfy despite the show moving to USA, perhaps to highlight the network that made the show possible in the first place.
How Resident Alien Season 4 Will Push The Show Forward
New Storylines Are Likely To Be A Huge Focus

Resident Alien season 3 ended with Harry and Bridget trapped on the Greys' Moon base, seemingly brought there for getting too close to the Mantid in a nearby cell. Season 4's first big focus will likely involve their return to Earth, whether it takes multiple episodes for them to get back, or becomes a season-long arc. While the pair are held captive in space, however, back on Earth, Mike has finally found proof of aliens after punching a Grey in the face. His future character development may center on the truth instead of passing it off as fantastical.
While it's hinted that the Mantid is going to be a clear threat going into season 4, the Greys are still a formidable foe that will no doubt have bad blood with the main characters after everything that's transpired. The largest of these events may have been D'Arcy taking Ben and Kate's baby back from them, almost blowing up their ship in the process. This could make it so the cast of Resident Alien is targeted by the extraterrestrials going into season 4, a more open conflict potentially transpiring.

However, the show has always thrown a number of unpredictable events into the mix, meaning season 4 could have elements that haven't even been hinted at in previous episodes. But, with the Greys becoming a more focal threat in Resident Alien at the end of season 3, it would make sense for them to be a primary focus going into the next episodes. With plenty of exciting events sure to come, Wiener's confirmation that writing has begun indicates big developments could be on the horizon.
