It was the second Western television series written for adults,[1] premiering on September 10, 1955, four days after The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp. The first 12 seasons aired Saturdays at 10 pm, seasons 13 through 16 aired Mondays at 7:30 pm, and the last four seasons aired Mondays at 8 pm. This is a list of episodes for the Old Time Radio western series Gunsmoke. The original pilot episode of Gunsmoke was entitled "Mark Dillon Goes to Gouge Eye" and was recorded twice. The first was on June 11, 1949, with Rye Billsbury as Dillon and the second on July 15, 1949, with Howard Culver in the lead. Neither pilot was aired and the hero's name was eventually changed from Mark Dillon to Matt Dillon.

The Long Branch, The Lady Gay, The Oasis and one other.....help me out! I just watched season 4 "The Coward" and Matt and Chester were looking for a man in the different saloons in Dodge and the ones they showed were called, "Texas Trail", "Trivoli", "Lady Gay", "Longbranch", "El Dorado", and "Buffalo Lager". That is 6 different ones not counting the "Oasis". Who knows how many more there were supposed to be!
